Current Timeline of Carina On-Premise

September 1st - January 14 : Work that must take place before users are onboarded:

  • Configuration of Jupyter environment, and related research software
  • Configuration of security policies and networking
  • Setup of archive and backups
  • Writing of a Disaster Recovery Plan 
  • Ensure compliance with MinSec requirements for high-risk data
  • Data Risk Assessment to be reviewed by Information Security Office

Week of January 10th: Limited onboarding of alpha users with a specific small set of available tools

January 17th - January 31: Further configuration of research software

  • Alpha user feedback and planning for future production operation 

February - April: Operational readiness

  • User management configuration
  • Storage and backup 
  • Environment config management in place

May: Setup of additional hardware and further configuration of research software

  • Add Rstudio, Shiny, SAS and Stata to Carina
  • Add existing owner nodes to Carina (previously Nero nodes)

June: Onboarding of Beta testers
